Volleyball Recap: Yulee Hornets vs. Providence School Stallions
Yulee lost against Providence School back in October of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Yulee came into the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-15, 25-18, 25-20.
Yulee's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Marie Hillman, who had 40 digs, and Chloe Carroll, who had 12 digs and five aces. Hillman is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last ten games she's played dating back to last season.
Providence School can attribute much of their success to Kayleigh Cardona, who had eight digs and three aces.
Yulee's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Providence School, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.
Yulee will challenge Fletcher at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fletcher is coming into the game with five straight defeats at home, meaning Yulee will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win. As for Providence School, they will square off against Effingham County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
