Football Recap: Marian Catholic Takes a Loss

If Marian Catholic was riding high fresh off their 51-0 takedown of De La Salle two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Spartans took a 30-14 bruising from the Niles Notre Dame Dons on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 48-19 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2017.

Owen Askren threw for 148 yards and one TD. Jazarris MacKmore was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards and one score.

Marian Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Niles Notre Dame, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.

As of now, neither Marian Catholic nor the Dons have any future games scheduled.
