Volleyball Recap: Bryce Uyesato and Daniel Hoang Secure Win for Greenway

Greenway hadn't done well against Cactus recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Demons came out on top against the Cobras by a score of 3-1. For the Demons, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 win the Cobras walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Greenway walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the second set). The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-12, 20-25, 25-18.

Leading Greenway to victory were Daniel Hoang and Bryce Uyesato. Hoang had 38 assists and five digs, while Uyesato had nine digs and two aces. That's the most assists Hoang has posted over his last ten games.

Cactus' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dillon Hommel, who had eight digs and three aces. JJ Sweeney was another key player, getting 14 digs.

Greenway's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for Cactus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.

Greenway is taking a road trip to take on Goldwater at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cactus, they will venture away from home to face off against St. Mary's at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
