Basketball Recap: Ogden Tigers vs. Morgan Trojans
After flying high against Wood River last Saturday, Ogden came back down to earth. The Ogden Tigers took a 67-49 bruising from the Morgan Trojans on Wednesday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Morgan's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kolton Asay, who went 8 of 13 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points and three blocks. With that strong performance, Asay is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Bracken Saunders, who went 8 of 13 on his way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.
Ogden dropped their record down to 8-6 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Morgan, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
When Ogden and Morgan next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Ogden will try to stop South Summit's three-game winning streak when the meet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Morgan will face off against Grantsville and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
