Recap: St. John's Islanders vs. Cross Trojans
The St. John's Islanders lost against the Cross Trojans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The game between St. John's and Cross wasn't particularly close, with St. John's falling 64-45. While losing is never fun, St. John's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while Cross is ranked 125th).
Jamez Way was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven assists and five steals for Cross. Way is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ramsey, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds.
St. John's has not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season. As for Cross, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 19-4.
St. John's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cross also has no future games currently scheduled.
