Baseball Game Preview: Annapolis Panthers vs. South River Seahawks

Annapolis hasn't had much luck against South River recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Panthers will face off against the Seahawks at 4:45 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Annapolis is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Severna Park, falling 8-2.

Will Meyer was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Annapolis saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Will Goulet, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, South River lost 13-3 to Severna Park on Monday. The Seahawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nolan Hooker was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Annapolis' defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for South River, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.

Annapolis couldn't quite get it done against South River in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 7-2. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
