Baseball Recap: Cedar Cliff's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

Cedar Cliff dropped their record down to 7-4 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manheim Township Blue Streaks. The Colts were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Blue Streaks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2017.

Grant Enders was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

As for Manheim Township, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games.

On Manheim Township's side, Nolan Peters tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Peters has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Manheim Township saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dionisio Acosta, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Cedar Cliff has already played their next matchup, a 5-4 defeat against Central Dauphin on the 23rd. As for Manheim Township, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 12-0 loss against Ephrata on the 23rd.
