Volleyball Recap: Briarcrest Christian Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Briarcrest Christian extended their winning streak to eight on Saturday, bumping them up to 9-2. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Spanish Fort Toros. That's more bragging rights for the Saints, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Among those leading the charge was Sarah O'Connor, who had 20 assists and three aces. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 35 games she's played dating back to last season. Nancy Ward also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Spanish Fort fell to 9-1. The matchup marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

Despite the loss, Spanish Fort still got an impressive performance from Cailyn Boykin, who had 18 assists.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Briarcrest Christian is headed away from home for the first time to challenge Regents at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Spanish Fort, they will head out to face off against Foley at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
