Gretna is a perfect 7-0 against Waverly since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Gretna will face off against Waverly at 7:00 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

While Gretna's win against Pius X wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Gretna's defense stepped up to hand Pius X a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for Gretna in their matchups with Pius X: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, Waverly entered their tilt with Blair on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Bears. Give Waverly's defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Waverly's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Gretna, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Gretna took their win against Waverly in their previous meeting back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gretna since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
