Football Game Preview: Collingswood Panthers vs. West Philadelphia Speedboys

The Collingswood Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the West Philadelphia Speedboys at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Collingswood has given up an average of 26.1 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Collingswood lost 36-15 to Pennsville Memorial on Friday.

Despite the loss, Collingswood got top-tier performance from Terrance Goffney, who rushed for 194 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.7 yards per carry.

Meanwhile, West Philadelphia suffered their closest defeat since September 27, 2024 last Friday. They fell just short of George Washington by a score of 24-22.

Collingswood will have to contain Jahsir Newsome as he made an impact in West Philadelphia's last game. He rushed for 85 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries. Newsome also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because West Philadelphia is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise. The Speedboys also got help from A'Kar Archer, who showed off his sure hands for 80 receiving yards.

West Philadelphia has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Collingswood, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
