Volleyball Game Preview: South Lenoir Blue Devils vs. Midway Raiders

The South Lenoir Blue Devils are taking a road trip to face off against the Midway Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

South Lenoir is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They blew past Greene Central 3-0. The Blue Devils not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since September 18th (when they won 3-0).

Meanwhile, Midway came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Midway's got stronger as the match went on, holding Wallace-Rose Hill to fewer and fewer points set over set. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-16, 25-14.

Midway's win came from a few key players South Lenoir will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Ella Clark, who had three digs, three blocks, and three aces. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 12 or more assists the last 46 times she's played.

Midway was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in four consecutive contests.

South Lenoir's record now sits at 6-15. As for Midway, their record is now 15-6.

South Lenoir might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Midway in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
