Basketball Recap: Taylor Allderdice Piles Up the Points Against Westinghouse

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Taylor Allderdice's strategy against Westinghouse on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Taylor Allderdice Dragons blew the Westinghouse Bulldogs out of the water with an 81-23 final score. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 24 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Taylor Allderdice to victory, but perhaps none more so than Asher Schwartz, who went 5-for-8 on his way to 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Schwartz is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Matthew Kossis was another key player, going 5-for-8 to rack up 11 points and five steals.

Taylor Allderdice has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.9 points over those games. As for Westinghouse, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-11.

Coming up, Taylor Allderdice will square off against Obama Academy of International Studies at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for Westinghouse, they will head out to take on McConnellsburg at 7:00 p.m. on February 19th. McConnellsburg will roll in looking for their 20th straight victory, something Westinghouse surely won't give up without a fight.
