Football Recap: Campo Verde Falls Short of Canyon View in the Playoffs

Campo Verde and Canyon View squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Campo Verde had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Jaguars 52-19.

Jonah Lubno threw for 87 yards on 11 of 17 attempts. Carter Haygood was his top target, picking up 57 receiving yards. On the ground, Drake Bradley rushed for 51 yards on only five carries.

Brady Scott had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 379 yards and five TDs for Canyon View. Those 379 passing yards gave Scott a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Micahel Callejas, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Campo Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Canyon View, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-2.

Campo Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canyon View, they will face off against Desert View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon View will need to watch out since Desert View has now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
