Volleyball Recap: Central Crossing Comes Up Short

If Central Crossing was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Cristo Rey last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Comets lost 3-0 to the Westerville Central Warhawks on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warhawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

While Central Crossing was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Westerville Central's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 26-24.

Joclyn Marable paced Central Crossing's offense, picking up eight kills. Marable got some help from Alexis Rose-Payne and her 22 assists. Rose-Payne was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Central Crossing has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Westerville Central, their record now sits at 8-13.

Central Crossing has already played their next contest (against Briggs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Westerville Central, they will challenge New Albany at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday.
