            Softball Recap: Scotts Valley Falcons vs. Carmel Padres        
        
		
        
        
            Scotts Valley lost to Carmel  back in March of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Scotts Valley Falcons were the clear victor by  an  11-1 margin over the Carmel Padres. Considering the Falcons have won four games by more than nine  runs this season, Saturday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Sofie Seese spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits and racked up 14 Ks. Those 14  strikeouts set a new season-high mark for  her.
 On the hitting side,  the team  relied heavily on  Taylor Wilson, who  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while  getting on base  in three of her five plate appearances. She is  on a roll when it comes to  stolen bases, as she's  now  snagged  at least one in each of the last six games she's  played. Another player making a difference was  Jazzy Doubek, who  scored a  run and  stole a base while going 3-for-4.
 Scotts Valley  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 11  hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  got at least eight  hits in four consecutive  matchups.
Scotts Valley's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
 Scotts Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  12-3  victory against Leland on the 11th. As for Carmel, they have also  already played their next game,  a  23-2  win against North Monterey County on the 18th.
