Their offense was hitting Meridian from everywhere, as eight different players booted in a goal. Carleigh King led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Northwest Rankin faced Oak Grove in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Warriors. The win continues a trend for Northwest Rankin in their matchups with Oak Grove: they've now won seven in a row.

Northwest Rankin's victory bumped their record up to 8-1-1. As for Brandon, their win bumped their record up to 10-0-1.
