Hubbertville hadn't done well against Berry recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lions walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Wildcats. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Nevaeh Hoobler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Hubbertville let Karlee Pollard and Anna Sophia Walker run wild. Pollard scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Walker scored a run while going 2-for-3. Hollie Roby also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Hubbertville's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Berry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Hubbertville will be taking part in a tournament against Lynn at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Berry, they will head out on the road to face off against Brilliant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
