Basketball Game Preview: Tolman Tigers vs. La Salle Academy Rams

The Tolman Tigers will face off against the La Salle Academy Rams on Friday. One thing working in Tolman's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matches.

Tolman is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 73-43 victory over East Providence. That 30 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Tolman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Borden, who went 11-for-13 to rack up 23 points along with eight boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Borden a new career-high in field goal percentage (85%). Another player making a difference was John Hilaire, who went 6-for-11 en route to 18 points in addition to seven assists and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, La Salle Academy faced Bishop Hendricken in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. La Salle Academy received a blow as they fell 63-49 to Bishop Hendricken.

Tolman has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. As for La Salle Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-3.

Tolman was dealt a bruising 85-50 loss at the hands of La Salle Academy in their previous matchup back in January. Can Tolman avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
