Baseball Game Preview: Canyon del Oro Dorados vs. Hamilton Huskies

The Canyon del Oro Dorados will take on the Hamilton Huskies at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Canyon del Oro can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Wednesday. They fell just short of Sunnyslope by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Dorados have suffered since February 24, 2024.

Regen Mazura was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Canyon del Oro saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Hoyler, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hamilton was able to grind out a solid win over Red Mountain on Wednesday, taking the game 6-3. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Mountain Lions: they've now won five in a row.

Canyon del Oro came up short against Hamilton in their previous meeting back in March of 2016, falling 7-3. Can Canyon del Oro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
