Baseball Recap: Tri-Valley Takes a Loss

Tri-Valley managed to slip by Heyworth the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Vikings came up short against the Hornets on Wednesday, falling 14-1. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Tri-Valley saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cole Klein, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Tri-Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4-1. As for Heyworth, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.

Tri-Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Rantoul at 4:30 a.m. on Thursday. The Eagles will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Heyworth, they will venture away from home to face off against Fieldcrest at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
