Basketball Game Preview: Blair Bears vs. Crete Cardinals

The Blair Bears are taking a road trip to challenge the Crete Cardinals at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Crete took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Blair, who comes in off a win.

Blair will bounce into Thursday's game after beating Norris, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Blair had just enough and edged Norris out 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bears have posted against the Titans since December 14, 2019.

Kate Wulf and Addie Sullivan were among the main playmakers for Blair as the former posted 14 points and the latter put up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Crete unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. The match between them and York didn't end well, with Crete falling 61-42. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Dukes are ranked 20th).

Crete's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Blair, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Blair strolled past Crete in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 61-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Blair since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
