Soccer Game Preview: Austin vs. Dripping Springs

The Austin Maroons will head out to square off against the Dripping Springs Tigers at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Austin narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Del Valle 2-1. Given the Maroons' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Cardinals are ranked 449th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dripping Springs). They blew past Akins 6-0 on Tuesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Tigers needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.

They hit Akins with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Emerson Barefoot (2), Bailey Stephenson (2), Daisy Kaner, and Addie Novosad.

Austin's record now sits at 4-7. As for Dripping Springs, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
