The Roncalli Royals will head out on the road to square off against the Franklin Central Flashes at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Franklin Central will be up against a hot Roncalli team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Royals put the hurt on Ben Davis with a sharp 10-4 victory on Saturday. Ten seems to be a good number for the Royals as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Roncalli got a massive performance out of Bennie Leffler, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Leffler has posted since back in April of 2024. Morgan Curtis was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and one double.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Roncalli kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 16-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Franklin Central entered their tilt with Southport on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They never let the Cardinals get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory.
Kiley Renick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Audrina Yorn was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sarah Miller, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Franklin Central's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Roncalli, their record is now 19-4.
Monday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Roncalli hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .376. However, it's not like Franklin Central struggles in that department as they've averaged .434. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Roncalli couldn't quite get it done against Franklin Central when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 9-4. Can the Royals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
