Softball Recap: Anderson Comes Up Short

Anderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Warren Central Warriors. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Jaycen Swink made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Delayna Houk was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Anderson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Warren Central, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-6.

Looking ahead, Anderson will square off against Richmond at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warren Central, they will face off against Guerin Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
