Catskill extends home losing streak to three

Recap: Catskill Cats vs. Coxsackie-Athens Riverhawks

This season hasn't been kind to the Catskill Cats, who are still winless after their fourth match. They received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 37-21 to Coxsackie-Athens. While losing is never fun, Catskill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 486th, while Coxsackie-Athens is ranked 80th).

Coxsackie-Athens' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reaghan Hellen, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Hellen set a new season high mark in steals with six. Baileigh Briski was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and five steals.

Catskill's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-4. As for Coxsackie-Athens, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Catskill will head out on the road to face off against Albany Leadership at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coxsackie-Athens, they will be playing at home against Taconic Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Taconic Hills is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
