Softball Game Preview: South Garner Titans vs. Corinth Holders Pirates

South Garner hasn't had much luck against Corinth Holders recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The South Garner Titans will host the Corinth Holders Pirates at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

South Garner is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 18-0 to Willow Spring.

Meanwhile, Corinth Holders entered their game against Cleveland on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Corinth Holders came up short against Cleveland, falling 11-2. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Pirates couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ava Marks and Liana Giron did some serious damage despite the final result: Marks went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI, while Giron went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Corinth Holders' defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for South Garner, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

South Garner couldn't quite get it done against Corinth Holders in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 7-2. Can South Garner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
