Volleyball Recap: Skyridge Extends Road Winning Streak to Eight

Skyridge hadn't done well against Lone Peak recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Falcons were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 back in September.

While Skyridge won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 27-25, 25-21.

Kylie Buttars paced Skyridge's offense, picking up 17 kills. Buttars got some help from Lily Grant and her 35 assists. Grant was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Skyridge's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-2. As for Lone Peak, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 17-10 record.

Skyridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Lehi on the 14th. As for Lone Peak, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Brighton at 6:30 p.m. on the 21st.
