Soccer Recap: Martinsburg's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Martinsburg). They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Jefferson Cougars on Monday. With Martinsburg ahead 6-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

The win (which was Martinsburg's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four games. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Martinsburg has already played their next contest, a 4-1 loss against Tuscarora on the 16th. As for Jefferson, they will venture away from home to square off against Buckhannon-Upshur at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
