Baseball Recap: Auburn Find Success

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Saturday as neither Auburn nor Dothan made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Tigers walked away with a 9-5 win over the Cougars. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Auburn got a great performance from Max Autrey as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only two earned runs while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Autrey a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Britt Farr and Brady Sack did most of the damage at the plate: Farr went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Sack went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Farr a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryson Sheppard, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Auburn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Auburn's win bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Dothan, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.

Auburn will challenge Daphne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Dothan, they will face off against Geneva at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
