Adding to the longest winning streak in Central California Athletic Alliance this week, Brookside Christian beat Big Valley Christian 44-0. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Stone Ridge Christian was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. The Knights defeated Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage 48-20 earlier in the week.
Austin Caldron threw for 224 yards and 4 touchdowns.
Noah Miedema was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Lions fell to Brookside Christian. The 5-foot-11 senior forced 1 fumble.
Caldron put up the best numbers in passing as Sam Sears' team topped Big Valley Christian. Caldron's favorite target this week was Blake Smallie, who caught 8 passes for 104 yards.
The Knights' Caldron and Edrico Oliver Jr. led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Caldron has thrown for 1,997 yards this season, while Oliver Jr. has 37 catches for 513 yards. Stone Ridge Christian's Estevon Herrera leads the league in rushing yards with 1,109.
The top two teams in Central California Athletic Alliance will face off this week when first place Brookside Christian takes on second place Stone Ridge Christian. Last week, Brookside Christian beat Larry Shimel's team, while Arthur De Jager's team defeated the Rams.
Going into this week's game against the Knights, the Knights' Caldron needs 3 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
The league will see a high scoring game when Stone Ridge Christian and Brookside Christian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Knights comes in having scored 204 this season, while the Knights have scored 324. Stone Ridge Christian scored 48 points last week as it topped Sierra Ridge/Rite of Passage.
Elliot Christian scaled the state rankings by moving to 1,000 from 1,027 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of topping Millennium 30-14.
