New Hanover has gone 9-1 against Hoggard recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Thursday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Vikings  at 6:30  p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
Having struggled with three  losses in a row, New Hanover  turned things around against West Brunswick  on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-5  win over the Trojans.
Meanwhile, Hoggard had to endure  a  three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They had just enough and edged out Topsail  2-1.
 Parker Gosselink looked comfortable as he  pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Hoggard's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Preston Smith, who  went 1-for-2 with one  stolen base.
 New Hanover's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Hoggard, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.
 New Hanover skirted past Hoggard  1-0 in their previous matchup  on April 1st. Will the Wildcats repeat their success,  or do  the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
