Recap: Bellefontaine Chieftains vs. Versailles Tigers
The Bellefontaine Chieftains suffered their biggest loss since November 25, 2023 on Monday. Their tough 53-31 defeat to Versailles might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Bellefontaine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Versailles is ranked 140th).
Bellefontaine lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Quinlan Zedeker, who scored nine points along with two steals. Zedeker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Lexi Robinson, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Bellefontaine now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Versailles, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Bellefontaine will head out on the road to face off against Graham Local at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Graham Local will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Versailles, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Minster at 7:00 p.m. Minster is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
