Recap: Monrovia Bulldogs vs. Waldron Mohawks
Even though the Waldron Mohawks scored an imposing 64 points on Monday, the Monrovia Bulldogs still came out on top. Monrovia walked away with a 76-64 victory over Waldron. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Monrovia.
Monrovia was led to victory by Allie Tallent and Ruby Murrell. Tallent scored 24 points, while Murrell scored 26 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Tallent has scored at least 25% of Monrovia's points. Emery Newlin was another key contributor, scoring 8 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Several Mohawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Audrey Hogg, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Benson, who scored 12 points along with 8 assists and 6 rebounds.
Monrovia now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Waldron, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Monrovia will head out on the road to face off against Eminence at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Eminence will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Waldron, they will look to defend their home court on November 28th against Greenwood Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. Greenwood Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
