Basketball Recap: Chavez Find Success

Chavez won the last time they faced Foothill and things went their way on Friday too. The Chavez Titans came out on top against the Foothill Trojans by a score of 56-48.

Loss or not, Foothill got some senior leadership from Fernando Sarabia and Derrick Sanchez. Sarabia went 5 of 6 on his way to 14 points, while Sanchez dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards gave Sanchez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Giovani Cruz, who posted five points and eight rebounds.

Chavez's win bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Foothill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season.

Chavez wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 49-24 defeat against Garces Memorial on the 4th. As for Foothill, they will square off against Mira Monte at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
