Softball Recap: Josie Cunningham Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Canyon View

Bishop Kelly had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt Canyon View on Friday. The Bishop Kelly Knights' pitcher stepped up to hand the Canyon View Falcons a 12-0 shutout.

Lauren Fettic made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Josie Cunningham was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Terese Stroschein was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Bishop Kelly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon View only posted a batting average of .056.

Bishop Kelly's record is now 2-0. As for Canyon View, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
