Basketball Preview: Providence Cristo Rey Wolves vs. Irvington Preparatory Academy
The Providence Cristo Rey Wolves will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Irvington Preparatory Academy at 7:30 p.m. Providence Cristo Rey has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1.
While Providence Cristo Rey couldn't quite beat the Achaeans on Wednesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 69-point defeat they were dealt on Friday. Providence Cristo Rey fell just short of the Achaeans by a score of 44-42.
Meanwhile, even though Thrival Indy Academy scored an imposing 59 points on Wednesday, Irvington Preparatory Academy still came out on top. Irvington Preparatory Academy took down the Aviators 74-59.
Providence Cristo Rey's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Irvington Preparatory Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.
Everything came up roses for Providence Cristo Rey against the in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 71-39 victory. Does Providence Cristo Rey have another victory up their sleeve, or will the turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
