Volleyball Recap: Otay Ranch Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Otay Ranch lost against Eastlake back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Titans by a score of 3-2. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Titans 25-19 in the first set.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Eastlake scored at least ten points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-18, 25-21, 23-25, 15-10.

Taetum Robinson paced Otay Ranch's offense, picking up 14 kills. Robinson got some help from Sienna Carter and her 15 assists. Finally, Ilana Garcia and Paola Ortiz kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Otay Ranch has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-14 record this season. As for Eastlake, their victory bumped their record up to 18-19.

Otay Ranch wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Mater Dei Catholic on the 17th. As for Eastlake, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Bonita Vista on the 17th.
