Basketball Recap: Grant Horn Key Part of a Team Effort in Demons Win

McIntosh won the last time they faced Leroy and things went their way on Saturday too. The McIntosh Demons came out on top against the Leroy Bears by a score of 50-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Demons.

McIntosh's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grant Horn, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 15 points and six assists. Horn is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Corey Williams was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Leroy's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cory Yelder, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ayden Tolbert, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

McIntosh's record now sits at 3-5. As for Leroy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

McIntosh will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Satsuma at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. Leroy will take on Excel in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Leroy's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Excel has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
