Soccer Game Preview: Southlake Carroll vs. Northwest

The Southlake Carroll Dragons will head out to take on the Northwest Texans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southlake Carroll's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Northwest's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Southlake Carroll will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Friday, then bounced right back against V.R. Eaton on Tuesday. Southlake Carroll's defense stepped up to hand V.R. Eaton a 4-0 shutout. Considering the Dragons' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Northwest hadn't done well against Keller Central recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Northwest had just enough and edged Keller Central out 2-1.

Southlake Carroll's record now sits at 6-2-2. As for Northwest, they now have a winning record of 3-2-2.

Everything went Southlake Carroll's way against Northwest when the teams last played back in January of 2023, as Southlake Carroll made off with a 5-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southlake Carroll since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
