Basketball Recap: Block Island Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Block Island had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 95-29 loss at the hands of the North Smithfield Northmen. Block Island just can't catch a break and has now endured 15 defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Connor Reilly was a one-man wrecking crew for North Smithfield as he posted 44 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Stark, who put up 12 points.

The win got North Smithfield back to even at 1-1.

Block Island wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 63-25 loss against Toll Gate on the 21st. As for North Smithfield, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 55-49 defeat against Central Falls on the 17th.
