Baseball Recap: Riverside Comes Up Short

Riverside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 4-1 to the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly three runs.

Riverside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Burke, who went 1-for-3 with one double. Dom Hodge also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will welcome George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Buckhannon-Upshur, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against East Fairmont at 5:00 p.m.
