Softball Recap: Carroll Cougars vs. Delphi Community Oracles
Carroll hadn't done well against Delphi Community recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Cougars were the clear victors by an 18-2 margin over the Oracles. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.
Emily Justice made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Carroll got a massive performance out of Olivia Stankard, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.
