Softball Recap: Fremont Takes a Loss

Fremont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 12-11 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ridgeline Riverhawks. The Silverwolves were not able to make up for their loss to the Riverhawks from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Jessica Broadbent was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Savannah Palmatier was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Broadbent wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Fremont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for Fremont: they were averaging 4.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 11.4.

Fremont's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Ridgeline, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will face off against Salem Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ridgeline, they will challenge Green Canyon at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
