Baseball Recap: Hawthorne Takes a Loss

Hawthorne managed to slip by Oak Hall the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Hornets lost 18-12 to the Eagles on Thursday. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 6-4.

Wyatt Jacobs stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored a run while going 2-for-4. Loniki 'LJ' Jackson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Hawthorne's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7. As for Oak Hall, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-5.

Hawthorne has already played their next matchup, a 21-9 victory against Peniel Baptist Academy on the 28th. As for Oak Hall, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Newberry on the 31st.
