Soccer Preview: Lake City vs. Trinity Collegiate
The Lake City Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Trinity Collegiate Titans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lake City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.8 goals per game this season.
Last Thursday, Lake City made easy work of Marion and carried off a 4-1 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 3-0.
Lake City hit Marion with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from William Harrell (2), Ethan Perez, and Kaleb Rentz.
Meanwhile, Trinity Collegiate hadn't done well against Governor's School for Science & Math recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. The Titans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Eagles 3-2. That's two games straight that Trinity Collegiate have won by just one goal.
The win made it two in a row for Lake City and bumps their season record up to 6-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 13 goals over those two games. As for Trinity Collegiate, their record now sits at 4-2.
Everything went Lake City's way against Trinity Collegiate in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, as Lake City made off with an 11-0 win.
