Basketball Game Preview: Bossier Bearkats vs. Northwood Falcons

The Bossier Bearkats will head out on the road to face off against the Northwood Falcons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Bossier played in conference for the first time on Friday and they got just the result they we're looking for. They were the clear victor by a 52-31 margin over Loyola College Prep. Given the Bearkats' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Flyers are ranked 1500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Northwood entered their tilt with Booker T. Washington-Shreveport on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They claimed a resounding 69-42 win over the Lions. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matches by 21 points or more this season.

Northwood is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for Bossier, their victory bumped their record up to 8-17.

Bossier was dealt a bruising 69-18 defeat at the hands of Northwood in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Can Bossier avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
