Basketball Recap: Timpson Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Timpson can now relate to. They were dealt a 67-38 defeat at the hands of the Chireno Owls on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 817th, while the Owls are ranked 209th).

Despite the loss, Timpson had strong showings from Natalie Johnson, who posted 11 points, and Taylor Stewart, who scored eight points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Timpson and nudges their season record down to 19-15. As for Chireno, they are on a roll lately: they've won 23 of their last 24 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 31-3 record this season.

Timpson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Chireno, they will face off against Douglass on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Douglass comes in on ten and Chireno on 20.
