Basketball Game Preview: Oswego Indians vs. Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks

The Oswego Indians will challenge the Jayhawk Linn Jayhawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Last Friday, Oswego came up short against Uniontown and fell 50-43. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost seven in a row.

Despite their defeat, Oswego saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jaycee Schulz, who posted 15 points in addition to five boards and three steals, was perhaps the best of all. Kodi Trimble was another key player, going 5-for-12 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Oswego smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Jayhawk Linn also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Crest by a score of 49-39.

Oswego's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Jayhawk Linn, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-6.

Things could have been worse for Oswego, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-31 loss to Jayhawk Linn when the teams last played back in January. Can Oswego avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
