Baseball Recap: St. John's Has No Trouble Against Timberland

St. John won the last time they faced Timberland and things went their way on Thursday too. The Islanders blew past the Wolves 13-3. The Islanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Micah Davison made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, St. John's let Emory Tetriv and Griffith Jackson run wild. Tetriv went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, while Jackson went 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four RBI gave Jackson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Robert Grant, who went 1-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

St. John's hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

St. John's record is now 10-7. As for Timberland, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

As of now, neither St. John's nor the Wolves have any future games scheduled.
