Recap: Bruni Badgers vs. Agua Dulce Longhorns
It was a good run, but The Bruni Badgers unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 41-30 to Agua Dulce. Bruni was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Agua Dulce apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Despite the loss, Bruni still got an impressive performance from Albert Esquivel, who rushed for 301 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 17.7 yards per carry, and also threw for 70 yards and a touchdown. Esquivel's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Another player making a difference was Aiden Favella, who gained 102 total yards and a touchdown.
Bryan King went supernova for Agua Dulce, rushing for 236 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.
Bruni's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Agua Dulce, their win was their fifth straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-2.
Bruni will face off against Sabinal at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Sabinal is ranked 1083rd, while Bruni is ranked 1108th). Agua Dulce is on the road again on Friday and play against Center Point at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
